Bondholders! We have our Annual Ice Cream Social coming up on Friday July 4th! Ice cream will be provided, sign up for the toppings you will be bringing. A list is at the check in desk. Come out for another fun year of socializing and indulging in yumming goodness! We are making summer memories at Club Brennan!  

Just a reminder that Swim Team has a home meet on Wednesday June 25st. The pool will close to members at 5pm. Good Luck to our Swimmers! GO BARRACUDAS!  

For me, the first thing I have noticed about the pool that has changed this year is something you cannot really see.  The resurfacing of the pool has been a tremendous improvement over last year.  Next time you get in the water, slide your feet along the floor.  True bliss!  Secondly, the new umbrellas really have added a nice touch to the pool.  Very professional looking and I suspect hold up a bit better than the ones from last year. 

We are finishing the ID binder for check in. There are still several members who do not have photo’s on file. Please make every effort to get to the pool and have your photo taken [all persons named on your memberships must have a photo done]. We will be implementing a new check in procedure and we must have photo’s of all members. After this weekend [June 14/15th] we will be restricting access to those members who do not have a photo on file and have not contacted us about getting one done.

Check in will go as follows: Members sign themselves in, presenting tags to staff, while staff looks up members in the Photo ID Binder. All tags must be presented for viewing, not left in the little envelopes. Numbers are being verified, as well as color! Thank you for working with us in the process! It is for the detriment of the Club, a PRIVATE facility!  

How do you get text message updates about?  It is very simple.  It is outlined here (http://help.twitter.com/index.php?pg=kb.book&id=1) , but I tried to streamline it in this list.  Refer back to the help page if you get stuck or instructions on how to turn off updates.  There is no cost to your Twitter account for the updates.  Just keep in mind your regular text message rates do apply based on the your cell phone carrier and plan.

1. First get a Twitter.com account. Very easy to setup by clicking the “Get Started-Join!” button.  It is free.
2. Fill in a username, password, and email address. You do need to fill in the ‘Humanness’ words.  If you cannot read them, click the refresh icon (two circled arrows) inside the box for it to generate new words for you.
3. Once you are logged in, click the “Settings” at the top right hand side of the page
4. In the account tab, choose the correct time zone – Eastern Time
5. At the bottom of this account tab, you can put a check in the “Protect my updates.” This will keep all of your updates private.
6. Click the devices tab and enter your cell number. A test message will be sent to your phone for verification. Send a reply back to this message at 40404.  Your phone is now synced.
7. You may want to choose a sleep time so you do not get a message during the early hours.  Rumor has it there are night owls on the Board of Directors.
8. Next, In the search bar at the top of the page, type in Clubbrennan
9. Clubbrennan will show up in the search results.  Click the “Follow” box and turn on device updates.  You will now receive text messages whenever Clubbrennan updates the Twitter account.

The Twitter updates have been working sporadically on our local site. We are trying to make at least one “Tweet” a day.  If there is not a recent update, be sure to click the Pool Twitter Updates link. This will take you to the ClubBrennan Twitter update page. There should be the most accurate information. Currently, the problem is with the Twitter.com site. If this continues to be a problem with not providing accurate information, we will remove it from the site and find another alternative. Our abridge hours have ended. We are now under normal operating hours: Monday thru Saturday 11a-8p and Sunday 12-7p [Holidays 11a-6p].  

Due to severe weather that is predicted for this afternoon, the OBL Pool Party has been rescheduled for Thursday June 5th [scheduled rain date]. The Club will be closed to members during that time. The Club will open to members today. As per our usual policy, thunder clears the pool of swimmers while lightning closes the club….both reopen 30 mins after the last boom/strike. 

Despite the chilly water temperatures, Opening Weekend was seasonably warm and the Club was crowded! The Board provided a cake for all members to enjoy!
